under size stair treads

i have an older house and the stair treads are smaller than usual, can i overboard the treads to enable me to place my whole foot onto each tread, can anyone forsee any problems?
 
wont comply with regs on 2 points

rise and going will be imbalanced

18mm ply will be a trip hazard 12mm will still be a trip hazard but too thin

to be accurate they are normal for this type off house lol :wink:

my 1907 terraced house they are 212mm deep whilst my feet are size 13 which are 350mm back to front :shock:
