Morning! So we are having under stair storage put in and this is the wall to remove. We were expecting wood but metal studs have been used. The metal is very weak though and has been formed in its own triangle with the plasterboard fixed to it- doesn't seem to be attached to the stairs directly, just via more plasterboard. Are we right to assume this isn't weight baring and fine to remove? Thank you in advance for any advice.

Go ahead, that looks fine to remove. 
The metal studs will be fastened into the stairs, so don't be too gung-ho!
Opening it up is also a good time to fix any creaking stair treads etc.
