Righ then, I'v got a cabinet and want to put kitchen type strip lights in it but there is no easy way of spuring off a lighting circuit. There is however a socket ring main I could spur off to acheive this. I no this is not ideal but is it ok to spur off with 1.5mm cable?

Thanks for any comments

From the socket use 2.5mm to a fused spur, then 1.5mm from the load side terminals of fused spur to light fitting.
Use a 3 amp fuse in the spur.
