Hi all, just wanted to know if I can put electrical heated under floor mat under a new solid wood floor and what if any screed or flexable glue I may need, one of the floors is concrete the other is wooden planks Thanks

dont even bother going there. Nothing but trouble. In fact i have been on two failed floor inspections today and both down to the underfloor heating. Also electric is very expensive to run.

Thanks for that, but we don't have mains gas, so it just seems better than getting night storage heaters etc

well if thats the case only fit engineered wood flooring over the top and NOT solid. Need more info on what heating system your fitting. The flatter the wires the better. You must also make sure you dont run to hot (27c absolute maximum) Have a look at this info and i would suggest you look into skirting heating. Much better. http://www.wood-you-like-diy.co.uk/tips_UFH.htm#Skirting Heating system You may also want to have a look at the other info on this site.
