We have just bought a 400 year old long house which suffers from rising damp and is freezing even in the summer. We need to cure the damp and make it warm. I would like to install some sort of breathable damp membrane and underfloor heating but the ceilings are already really low. We are worried about digging down too far and don't want the cost of underpinning. Any advice welcome
