Hi,

Wonder if anyone can assist me.

I have had a single storey extension built which is 48sq m. I think the best way to heat this area is water based underfloor heating to run through the combi.

However, my builder has already layed the floor. Is it possible to use a router and dig out where the pipes will be laid? Will it still be as effective as using the trays that normally go with these systems?

Any advice or guidance welcome. If anyone has had a similar system installed ,please give an idea on price.

I can't see anything working very well underfloor since its already laid unless you want to loose some height and lay the pipework then put a floor on top, Why not cut your losses and put rads in, or even skirting radiators.

Stick with radiators.
Underfloor I see doesnt work particularly well and is slow to respond.

We fit lots of underfloor ............ If used with screeded floors then great ............ On suspeneded floors I would agree its not that great but I would disagree with your comments about not working well

To the guy that asked the question ........ where have they laid the celatex is it below the screed or is it below the concrete oversite??

It can be done but need some more info ....... But to be honest if cost is an issue then go with rads

Slooow, takes 2hrs from cold but does stay hot for 2hrs.
Good if there is no wall space.

There are overlay systems you can look at.
Hi Dan I wouldn't bother they don't seem to want to know if anyone replied.

Keep your sarcasm to yourself. Sadly I cant be on here all the time.

Thanks to everyone else who replied.Advice was appreciated.

I've now managed to find a local plumber and have decided to go for the overlay system.
