Underfloor heating thermostat

I am going to install underfloor heating in my kitchen, and I think it would be best to get an electrician in to wire it up!

What I just wanted to check was that I could use any thermostat, or whether I would have to get one from the same company as I get the heating wire? I assume that a thermostat is a thermostat, but can anyone correct me if I am wrong.
