Unemployment

Of my sons year only 2 got proper jobs leveraging their degrees. Him and his mate (who he got a job).

Must be depressing to have worked hard and got nowhere.
Well, we know where the Blair lays.
The sad fact is that it will only get worse with more and more companies outsourcing anything and everything that's done on a computer to AI.
Even law.
Just ask Eminem.:D

Yeah, AI is a disaster for young people. Computing graduates are struggling to get work now because companies are relying heavily on AI. We're going to experience a massive brain drain over the next decade, and then businesses will suddenly find that there are no experienced and skilled staff who understand what the machines are creating. What could possibly go wrong?

With degrees in drama, social media and other nonsense, no wonder so many end up unemployed.
There are courses on Taylor Swift and Minecraft FFS!
And all those student loans unpaid...

Sadly I think too many degree holding individuals expect top class jobs and salaries despite having little or no work experience.

The government has commissioned a review into "what's holding the younger generation back".

Yeah, save our tax money on the review. The answer is government policy, sending too much manufacturing overseas and allowing too much outsourcing overseas.

What laws would you like to see in place which could be used to forbid private companies from having factories overseas?
