Hi,

I stripped my hall walls then sanded and washed down with soap water. I then did two coats with Crown Magicote matt emulsion. The things is there's bits all over the surface of the wall. The tin is new but was kept outside in the garage, but I can't see any bits in the tin or on the roller.
I've attached a pic of what's happened.
ANy advice or do I just need to sand it all down again?

Thanks in advance

Looks like paster residue.
When cleaning off paste you have to go over the walls 3 or four times and when you think you've got it all off dampen in random places and rub it with your finger if it still feels 'pasty' you gotta wash it down until it doesnt.

Regarding bittiness could be residue from sugar soap if you used it.

You've got to scrape that lot off now, dampening first should help

Thanks for the reply. SO just use a scraper on it as paint is semi wet still?

I used a roller and tray, yes. Not new but both were cleaned well prior to use. I think it may have been due to the soap water as only give it a quiick wipe down

Are you sure your paint isn't frost damaged? It separates like that when the frost gets it. I had to chuck some out a week ago.

^^As I said, it had been kept in the garage but only for the past 2 weeks and it hasnt been too cold.

What would be my best course of action to remove the paint now?

Its text book paste residue, you can see where its 'balled' up.

You need to scrape it off, as i mentioned dampening should help. One upside is you'll scrape alot of the paste off as well but you are still gonna have to clean it well. You can use zinnser dif which eats the paste or also zinnser guardz if you dont mind spending some extra cash.

Oh dear. I am sorry. I'll try harder next time. Would you like a refund?

Agree with dcdec.

Looks like paste residue and it has clearly reacted with the new paint.
