Unexpected? Not by me or anyone else with a brain.

Stop crying

Labour are having to sort out 14 years of Tory power including a disastrous Brexit.

Of course you can always vote Reform and see a massive run on the pound

Says the contributor who voted for Brexit

Unless Reeves gets a grip she’ll have a problem with the pound that will be out of control

The economy is already out of her control. Fiscal policy is out of her control. I think she's still allowed hankies

Not saying I necessarily agree but this is how it's presented.

It looks like Meloni actually doubled that particular tax!

Anyway, I think we have strayed. The point is that the markets have kept confidence with Meloni because she has done very little with the basic economics. This is very different to the Liz Truss on steroids plan put forward by Farage.

You might be confusing the economic benefit of stability, with good economic polices.

Apparently Starmer is planning a reshuffle, to secure loyalty.

I wonder if Rachel will keep her job.?

Maybe the plan is to ditch her and allow the new chancellor to raise taxes, breaking the manifesto.

I think you are on to something there - and it will only install even more mistrust in labour by the electorate

You're completed deluded if you think people still have money to hold onto after 14 years of corruption.
I can't remember the last time I had disposable income to "hold on to". Everybody I know, bar a few forunate people in high earning jobs, are in the same position.
People are not spending because they have no money. It really is that simple. And the reason is that the economy was severely weakened by the previous government.
People on here seem to have plenty to play around with having 50K in premium bonds and some 100k between them and their other halves and some even manage 150k in bonds :ROFLMAO:
