We planted a couple of pear trees in the garden last year, in peat moss and processed chicken manure.
We put them in, next to our mature apple trees and along with some new apple trees. The new apple trees are thriving but the pear trees are looking a bit sad.
They are in a sheltered spot but the soil up here wouldn't be great, well drained but stoney.
