Unsealed compression fitting now sealed

My plumber fitted a compression isolation valve under the bath for me. The joint was weeping very slowly so he tightened the nut. But I later noticed water built up on the nut. The water wasn’t enough to be an issue, so I left it to deal with later. Now a week later, the joint seems to have dried and no more weeping is present.

Should I now not bother with putting any ptfe tape, as the joint seems to be sealed? Or could the seal be temporary and should I apply some ptfe to the olive and re-tighten it?

more likely sealed itself check over a days if ok leave it.

Is it on mains cold water and had you just drawn some water through the pipe? If so the water on the nut was probably condensation which has now dried. Try running water through it for five minutes and see if the condensation reappears.
