Thought I'd share this.
Get a call from a lady saying that everytime she uses the shower there's a horrible electrical burning smell.
I visit her and check everything out looking for obvious bad connections in shower, isolation switch and CU.
Nothing untoward found so test IR Zs etc no problem, I did comment on lack of RCD on shower cct (no RCD on CU as 1st floor flat) so I make appointment to fit one. In the interim I advise her to leace shower off at CU.
She called me today saying her daughter could smell electric burning in bathroom - this turned out to be a lamp shade holder resting on lamp and melting!!
