Its not a gas registered engineer you need, its someone who holds a current G3 certificate. Such a person will be registered with a "competent persons scheme" which may or may not be the scheme run by Gas Safe. Being Gas Safe Registered does not automatically make a person G3 competent.
Thank you for your reply. Indeed I am looking for someone G3 registered. However, I believe the qualification is most likely to be held by a Person installing boilers/CH systems hence my post requesting a Gas safe registered engineer.
You can search the Gas Safe, OFTEC, and APHC websites to find people who are qualified to install unvented cylinders in your postcode area. Mike Walton is close to you and a good installer though http://www.mwtheplumber.co.uk/index.php/products
