I've scrapped the idea of having a Bosch Highflow 440/ valiant ecotect 937 and gone for the unvented option instead.

The question is do i go for a direct or indirect cyclinder.
I assume with a direct cylinder the water will heat up using electricity
where as with indirect it will heat the water up using gas so the indirect cylinder will be cheaper to run?
Also with an indirect if the boiler breaks down I am without hot water but then again I can use the electric shower as a back up.

What are your opinions? Should I go for a Direct or Indirect Unvented Cylinder and why?

Cheers

It seems like there are already a lot of posts addressing this on the forum.
From what i've read and understood from the web I'm leaning more towards a megaflo solar indirect unvented cylinder.
I haven't got solar panels yet but in future if I decide to get some then I can just plug it in.
For now the water will just heat up using gas.

Is this the right decision? Anyone care to agree/disagree?

Cheers
