Ive just had a new unvented KINGSPAN hot water cylinder fitted by a heating engineer. It has a separate expansion vessel. There is no pressure guage, is this correct? How do I know if the pressure is right etc? Any answers please before I get him back! :(

There is no rule to say there should be one.

I never implied that the installer was wrong. I need to drain the cylinder and dont know what to expect when it is refilled. Does the pressure build automatically? Does the expansion tank have a pre-charged sealed pressure? The only similar thing I have had was an Oso where you had to adjust the pressure ocasionally, hence the guage.

The only time I ever see gauges installed on expansion vessels (and that's rarely)are on commercial installs, but it shows system pressure anyway not precharge, don't worry about it
