Unvented hot water expansion vessel

If the expansion vessel for a unvented hot water cylinder was fitted to the hot outlet pipe instead of the cold main going into the cylinder would this pose any problems.

As far as I can see it will still allow expansion of the heated water

Your correct but it will shorten the life of the rubber as it will be sitting in 60c water.
