Upgrade cctv question

Hi I have a Swann 720p 4 camera system installed at my home and am wanting to upgrade it to get better night vision maybe 1080p or better.
My question is can I leave the existing wiring in for the cameras in and change the cameras and dvr system .I installed it while having some work done and access to the wiring is restricted..
And also would it have to be another Swann system to fit the existing wiring...

1080p does not equal better night vision.

Where are the cameras covering that need better night vision? An outside light might be a better option to improve night vision.

DVR suggests coax not POE so you could use any cameras and system suitable for coax. The connections should be exactly the same.

Hi the cameras cover all round the house the front is well lit the back is dark but they are too grainy and I would prefer a clearer picture when dark, hence reason for wanting to upgrade to a better system..
