Upgrading to Un vented cylinder

Hi there, this is my first post of many... Currently in the process of buying a house, the house has a intergas open vent boiler which is a couple of years old.

Can I upgrade the hot water cylinder to Un vented without changing the boiler? We want a couple of new shower fitting and Mains pressure hot water is something we would like to try and achieve

i don't see why not, but you'll have to do some other alterations to your existing plumbing and heating system.
if you want a decent shower, it might be easier (and cheaper) to get a booster pump

The boiler will be perfect, but you need to have your mains water flow rate and pressure checked before you commit to an unvented cylinder

As you buy the house carefully check the warranty on the boiler.

Should be five years if its been correctly fitted by an approved installer.

Thanks guys we have friends who live on the same estate and there water pressure seems fantastic to be honest, the solicitors have requested information on the heating system etc so should clarify the warranty situation

Also where do I find a fitter capable of fitting a unvented cylinder?

As far as I am aware you need a special qualification to fit these?

Is there a site to find a qualified installer?

You need a G3-registered installer, but I'm not aware of any way of searching a database, mostly because registration isn't centralised - you just need to ask any engineer you contact. Some have it as part of their gas registration. Personally, mine is registered via OFTEC. Others may be on the APHC Scheme
