UPVC Door locking mechanism issue

Hi Guys,

Any ideas what would be wrong with the door and what would need checking or replacing.

Once i close the door i pull the handles up and i lock the door with key. Issue is when you force down the door handle real hard it seems to open the door?

Any ideas?

Yep as i mentioned when i push it down it seems to open the door when it shouldnt as the door has been locked. I also changed the cylinder but still had the same issue.

Also noticed when the door is open and i lock the door i can press the lock back in by pushing it inside (this is the thing that sticks out on the side when u lock the door)

Sounds like the lock mechanism is worn beyond serviceable limits.
