Upvc fillet trims

Hi is there a solvent to remove the fillet trims on upvc window frames . Also is there any reason why the trims are cracking where they join to the cill. Can silicone be rendered over

WD40 on the sealant but then cut and remove the trims.
Assume the cracks are just the sealant not the trims?
