Hi All,
This is going to sound a bit odd!
Ive a massive wall to fit a set of French doors in an external wall!
3800mm X 2140mm.

Obviously this is a shed load of glass. so we came up with making the bottom third of the French doors a UPVC panel.

Is this common?
If so what are they called? I cant seem to find anything under the obvious google searches.

Or are they simply doors.

Something Like these but with side panels to make up the width.

Cheers

Doors that size are made to measure and can be made to your design, the ones in the picture show them to have a midrail with an 'infill panel' and is fitted exactly the same as the glass unit above it

Thank you for the reply, so would that be classed as a French door!

Or a glorified door?
Just don't want to be taken for a mug on ordering!

Still classed as frenchdoors yes but with a midrail and infill panel, when ordering you just need to specify the height of the midrail, measurement taken from the bottom of the outer frame to the centre of the midrail and whether you want the midrail to run into the side panels

Ah right!
That sounds so much better!
Thank you for the clarification and help!

I know, I genuinely love the idea, just not the £5000 price tag!

I got it down to £3000 with the compromise of upvc as apposed to aluminium!

One fitter said "I'd rather have AIDS than fit a upvc bifold!"

I had to chuckle!
