Upvc window bolts sticking

Help: The fan light window in my kitchen won't open as the bolt has come off the locking system. It has jammed the window shut. I can't access the bolt by taking the handle off nor the trim! I have tried brute force, but the whole unit creaks and I don't want to buckle the upvc.
Any ideas welcome!
