Hi

I have a UPVC window that does not lock. The handle moves and I can hear clicking behind the handle but she shoot bolts do not move which I assume means they don't engage the locking points and I assume the window pushed open as a result.

What is likely to be the issue and is it easy to fix?

Also it is a first floor window with the hinges at the top. Its difficult to get to them from the inside of the house. Is it easiest to remove the window or get a ladder?

Any help or help would be appreciated.

Hi,

probably it is not necessary to remove the window, but only the handle and the locking system

Thanks for the reply. Excuse my ignorance. I can manage removing the handle. Does the locking system simply unscrew or is it more complicated than that. Thanks

It simply unscrews but you'll need to be under it to see what your doing, I think that was the question you were asking
