Hi,
We have a upvc window in the 1st floor bedroom, it is a large opening window with a i think hinges that are fire escape / easy cleaning. The window i think is supposed to open and stay open at 90 degrees on its own. However the window when pushed open just slowly closes. Is this a knackered hinge or do i need to do something with it. The window has never stayed open on its own since we moved in so not something we have done.

Should the worst happen and a fire occur and you need to escape via your escape window, as long as you can get out through the opening somehow I doubt whether it stays open or not will enter your mind!

Don't worry about it.

Open the window, there should be a plastic bit that slides up and down when you open and close the window, on the plastic part there should be a little screw, just tighten it a little.
