My wife would like window restrictors retro fitted to some of our upvc sash and casement windows, to prevent the windows from opening too far.

Does anyone know of a good source to buy and if it's a DIY job to fit them?[/quote]

If the hinges are side fixed i.e two part, fixed into a channel and slide within themselves, then you can put a screw in this channel to stop the slide action where you want it to stop...seemples
...pinenot :)

I fitted a load of these recently (we've got cats and dont want them getting out) - http://shop.windowrepairshop.co.uk/VBH-Window-restrictor

The UPVC windows were straightforward albeit awkward due to access (leaning out the window trying to drill into the edge of the frame).
There are different height posts and i ended up using a few washers to adjust more closely.
