uPvc sash - How to restrict opening of lower pane only?

I need to restrict the opening of the lower pane of a uPvc sash window - any idea how to do that? It needs to be something that is either permanent or can be locked with a key. I've seen sash window restrictors, but if locked they restrict opening of both windows. I only want to restrict the bottom pane, while allowing the top pane to be opened without having to remove/unlock the restrictor.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

screw a stop to each side -say using some white upvc trim

most restrictors as youve found go in the stiles of the top sash and stop either from moving more than the distance till the meeting rail hits
yes I want to restrict it at the side if possible.

Anyone know what the name of this is, or is it just a generic uPvc trim? If I could replace this with a longer bit to come all the way down to the top of the lower pane then that might work.

Edit: this is the top right corner of the window.
