hi guys

ive a window that doesn't seal closed.

the window opens from the bottom and lifts outwards there is no problem with that it opens as it should, however when the window is in its closed position the window is square with its frame....on the left there is draft where the frame doesn't meet the window creating a very small gap whereas on the right hand side there is plenty of the window that meets the seals and frame.

how can I balance the two out to centralise the window

cheers

terry

window not square with frame I was meant to type

Sounds like the hinge is worn and not pulling in tight. Replacements are available (Screwfix do them) and relatively easy to fit if the window isn't too heavy. Sometimes it is possible to give the hinge a tweak - pictures will help explain more if you can upload some.

Is the draft in the top corner by the hinge?
If so you may need new hinges but first try greasing the corners of the hinges where it pulls in at the top, Open and close several times and see if it has improved
