What is it, a hinge?
Hi,

It's between the hinge and frame , I can see most of the screw i believe it's just stopping them dropping but wanted to know if it was a bodge or an authentic part

Which part are we talking about, is what standard on a uPVC window?

It looks like a locator lug to me that ensures a good engagement with the frame when the opener is closed. It's all part of the hinge mechanism and is supposed to be there.

If you mean the white triangular bit then it slides into a cup on the frame side of the hinge to keep the corners tight in
