urgent asbestos roof tiles

next door is having there roof redone, its a 1920s house with asbestos roof tiles that look like slate,should the contractors just be throwing them off the roof into a normal skip?

to have the asbestos disposed of properly would cost 6 to 800 quid yeah?

then why let your neighbour be a tight irresponsible a hole and let the lot go to landfill???

No self respecting skip company will take the skip if it's full of asbestos..
The roof covering may not be asbestos at all, there are other substances.

I'm sure it's not 'just' going to landfill..

The trouble with this subject is there is a lot of miss informed people making wild comments about a subject they know nothing about..

Could be a fibre/cement slate and not asbestos at all.

White asbestos cement slates are not as dangerous as other types of asbestos, there are 100,000's of acres of asbestos roofing in the uk millions of people are exposed to the dust from these roof's,gutters ect which blows into their roofspaces,gardens ect every day of the week,how many of these people are dying every year.
