Hi Everyone

I have house which was built in the late 70s, I always thought the roof was natural slate untill I googled why I was having massive moss problems. It turns out it is a Asbestos cement Slate(looks exactly like a slate)

I am now looking to get the roof replaced due to state of the roof and would like to know what rules are in disposal of the slates.

Check if your council will accept them at the tip as a DIY disposal. If so, just follow their guide.

Otherwise you need to hire a skip for asbestos waste. You don't don't need a specialist licenced contractor, but the waste must be treated as asbestos waste.
