USB extension cables

Is there any real performance difference between the latest USB2 rated extension cables, and older USB1.1 cables?

Probably not, quality is what counts.

It most certainly does..
usb 1.1 is rated at 11Mb's (Mega bits not bytes).
usb 2.0 is rated at 480Mb's (Mega bits not bytes).

usb2 cable is sheilded to block out interference.
