Use 25mm fittings in 1” pipe?

Hi all,
We have a private reservoir with a pump system in the garage that draws water out and up to a loft header tank. This uses the older 1” black plastic pipes.

we’re getting mains water installed at the reservoir site, so I can connect the pipe in the reservoir to send mains pressure water to the loft tank.

so, I need to bypass the pump and put a ball valve in. I’m struggling to find 1” full bore ball valves with compression fittings, so I’m wondering if 25mm fittings would work.

thanks in advance!
