Spoke to them over the phone..
promised they would have the boiler off the wall by today and new
22MM gas pipe installed

-10am start..

.. Had to chase them to get them onsite..

Came on site

started to flush the system (power flush, or what ever they call it)
told me they would be back.. to remove and install.
(2 hours later.. nothing) I start to call them up..
eventually they answer..

"were on our way".

Got on site, Boiler had gone into protection mode..

They now connected the boiler to the mains.. (pump)
told me to turn it off after 2 hours.
"they have now left the building".

All day has been wasted!


Any one local to Wakefield / Leeds who can install a boiler for me

Only catch is I want it done by tomorrow AM / Mid afternoon

I have the boiler,
the flue pack and the extension flue.
 
you don't want much do you.
engineers are useless, then want people to jump to your beck n call.

no hopes. :lol:

I'm in Leeds, corgi reg 'n all that but unfortunately will not be coming anywhere near you tomorrow, nor any other day for that matter.
We are not just hung up behind a door ,ready for you to use at your whim!!

Isn't it more important to have the boiler fitted properly and the system power flushed?

Rather that rushed without cleaning it properly?

Customers should realise that doing anything properly can take time!

Fitting in boiler installations and repairs can be difficult when five customers are complaining that its freezing cold and their boiler is not working.

If I did installations then I would never want to fit a boiler in a house where someone was living!

I seriously think you have got the wrong end of the stick.

I dont mind waiting and getting the job done properly, however when they promise me they will be onsite for 8.30 and fail to do that, then go AWOL for the entire day, leaving me to sit inside.. waiting for them to teleport in some how. I think that is rather unfair.

This is what they promised.

onsite for 8.30
> start to flush the system
> new 22mm gas pipe (from current one)
> flush complete
(lunch)
> old boiler off the wall
> New boiler on (brackets)
end of business

next day
onsite for 8.30
>new boiler on
> extention to water pipes and other bits
> comissioning of boiler
finished for 12pm.


So far they have managed not managed to complete the "flush".

Don't think they liked the I want it done by tomorrow bit :lol: not a cat in hells chance comes to mind, even after allowing for all good engineers to be busy, none are going to be sat at home waiting for your call.

Saying that, I think you're getting a raw deal, you cannot do an powerflush, if you're not on site opening and closing rads, reversing the machine etc. and I hope you tell the guys that if they return.

there are a lot of decent engineers on here who have to day in day end out basically crawl to people like you because of the fear of people like you reporting them for ever reason you see as being grounds for complaint.
im sure you recognise you previous actions?
why are you looking down your nose at us?
do you think your better than us and we are mere servants?

dont be surprised when we decide to go away due to a lack of any respect :twisted:
 
So thats why Agile charges £870 for boiler swap it includes owners hotel stay. :lol:
 
If it's any consolation to you,tomorrow i shall be scurrying about below a customers floor voids in sunny Bradford,(not an entirely appetising prospect!), but it's gotta be done. As for my previous post ,i make no apology, it was not meant to be scathing ,more like wakening you to the fact that you will have to persevere with the company that you have engaged to perform your boiler change. If you don't like it then lump it!

Which bit of the OP's post suggests that the OP is looking down his nose at you/us?

Which bit suggests he/she thinks you/we/Engineers are minions?

A lack of respect? :shock:

Which part of the Contractor's behaviour deserves any respect? They treat him with a complete lack of courtesy and expect respect? They deserve contempt, they have earned it. They're clowns.

I think chinning them would be the average reaction to this behaviour.
