Hi. I'm liking the idea of using a high quality ply as a feature wood throughout the house - I really like the contrasting light and dark layers and want to highlight this aspect.

Possible places where I'm thinking of using is on window cills, as skirting boards and door architraves. Can anyone think of reasons why this may not be a good idea?

I'm still looking into what type of wood to use but keep coming back to a standard birch, partly down to cost, and partly warmth of colour.

Thanks..

you need to finish all cut edges
and if you want any molding or shape to the edges you need to add solid timber to cover those areas

You will have lots of joins as you will be limited with the material length.
