Using Bradstone Rope Top Edging

I intend to lay a number of these as lawn edging.

What should I put down as a base and how should I lay it.

What should I use to join the edging together with, mix etc.

Best bet is concrete, using 10mm ballast, at least, that's how I find it works best.
