Hi Guys .

I need to attach a cable to a new oven . the question am i better using crimped ring or spade terminal or just wrapping the wire around the screw .

What do the terminals look like? Sometimes they have two "square-U" shaped washers, positioned orthogonally, and won't take a ring, and probably not a spade.

If a ring will fit, and you have a proper crimping tool, I'd say use a ring.

Depending on the oven, I find the forked crimps fit well.
And as B.A.S has already said, use the correct crimping tool.

Thanks ban-all-sheds I have just had a look , No washers at all just the three connection screws .the earth has got a copper screw and a spade connector . considering this is a BOSH appliance it's connection is pants .

yes I have crimp tool wit the necessary connections , I'll take your advice and crimp the ring connector's on .

thanks again

thanks guys

just for interest (I assume you might be ) the oven is a Bosch Classixx HBA13B250B

220-240v 50/60 Hz HONO 2200W Max = 9.16 amp??. (I think that's right if I remember Ohs Law) .

existing cooker is on a socket below a cooker control 20 amp circuit . so stuck a plug on the new one . No messing with the new wiring I had done 12 months ago .

I cant understand why they wouldn't fit a cable and plug before Purchase? unless I'm totaly wrong by fitting a plug of course :?:
