Hi,

Have removed a back boiler which was using a metal flue liner. Im planning to install a wood stove as a centre peice and it will be used occasionally and not very often.

Can i connect the wood stove to the existing liner? it looks like 125mm flexible stainless steel.

I'd have it checked over first, you can providing it's in good nick.
They do say that flue liners for wood/multi fuel burners have a life of about 7 years, this will depend on usage and heat.
I had one installed on a property about seven years ago and it's still in good condition.

Hi, simple answer is , what type of back boiler was it Gas or solid fuel ?

If it was gas , then liners are completely different and can't be used with solid fuel as they are dangerous.

If it was a solid fuel back boiler I would still be cautious, a holed liner is far more dangerous than no liner at all

Hope this helps
