Thanks to some forthought in loft conversion design my header tank is entombed behind a dry wall with a tiny inspection hatch. Rather that run a separate cold supply to my Shower pump, can I use a 15mm tee from the 22mm cold supply to the hot tank to supply the pump. I know this is not the best idea but if the consequences are not too hard to bear then it would make for a much easier job.

well depends on what the manufacturers state in their installation instructions, but would advise against it or you will have air ingress problems

Thanks, I thought as much. The other thing is The tank is very small and this is wrorying me. One idea would be to place aonther cold tank about 1.5 meters above the pump and run a separate cold feed to and from it. This sounds over complicated but would be easier that knocking large wholes in walls..

At least then I would have the 50-70 gallon recommended supply of cold water for both hot tank header and cold supply for the shower. I know the head of water pressures would be different in both tanks but I can see where that matters as long as there is enough water and enough head to start the pump.

Any thoughts
