Good Evening

I have a double light switch to control 2 different lighting circuits in one room.

The double light switch is modular and I need to remove one of the switches.

I have located the common live wire which feeds both switches.

I have removed the switch as planned and temporarily isolated all the associated wiring, inculding the common live wire, with insulating tape.

Will this be okay as a temporary measure ? I take it that it is safe ?

Cheers.

It would be safer to put it in a connector.
Tape can drop off and if anyone touches it whilst it's live, the tape can stick to your fingers and be easily pulled off.
