Using Mapei waterproof kit and Bal adhesive?

Hi,

Just wondering if it is ok to use Mapei waterproof kit (http://www.screwfix.com/p/mapei-shower-waterproofing-kit-5kg/78484) with Bal one part flexible adhesive? If so should I also put a primer over the top of the Mapei waterproof kit before putting the adhesive on? I intend to use Bal SBR for the rest of the wall.

Why not use materials from the same stable, either all Mapei or all BAL? Mixing brands is never a good idea as you can never be 100% certain they will not interact badly. Don’t know what Mapei recommend but BAL specifically state not to prime WP1 before tiling.

I know you’ve posted before & the info may be in there but can you refresh my memory exactly what you have & a link if relevant? Presumable the tanking is in a wet area but what is the wall made of? Why are you tanking part of the wall & priming with SBR on the rest?
