Here is a very vague question for you...

How much does it cost for me to run my heating all day? Or per hour?

I just want a ball park figure, i.e. £10, £100 or 10p?

We have a brand new Valliant EcoTech boiler and the house is a mid terrace, 3bed with mostly old double glazing.

I just want to know when my lady nags me to turn the heating on in the middle of the day if it is costing me 20quid or a pound!

I think the only real way of finding out is to not use the central heating for 3 months or a month, then use it all the time for 3 months or a month, and compare bills.

There are too many factors to go by.

my gas CH uses 77kWh/day average in cold weather (like last December and January) and is run for about 16 hours.

So about 5kWh per hour in loose terms

My gas supplier charges me 3.3pence per kWh

So I suppose it is costing me 16.5 pence per hour but £2.50/day.

mine includes hot water.

yours will vary.

the fewer hours per day you run it, the more it costs per hour as it has to heat up a cold house first.

I also have a standing charge of 13.4pence per day, but that is unaffected by having the heating on or off.

Ok that proves me wrong then lol

Sounds like a phone tariff, the more you use the less it costs
