I worded that ambiguously!

It should have read "Boilers should be connected to the mains power through a heat resisting cable".

There is always someone who gets the wrong end of the cable.

did realise either. that only cheapo plumbers use end feed but the pros use yorkshire ps youd proberbly have more trouble understanding the workings of a mark 1,rather than the newer ones

If you do a quotation for a specified job then most of the time you will find that they specify Yorkshire solder ring fittings.

Have a look at your local supermarket plumbing and you will usually find they have used Yorkshire fittings, presumably because they were specified.

I use whatever the sustomer specifies or otherwise end feed for most fittings.

The OP is gas trained and deemed to be competent to work on gas or safety devices on the boiler.
