Hello,

I have a VAILLANT VU INT I 256/5-5 ecoTEC Plus boiler and TADO V3+ starter kit and I want to wire TADO in the way that works in digital/modulation mode.

Is it ok to connect it in this way (pic below, BUS -/+ and TADO -/+)?, Or I need some extension kit or else?

Unfortunately vaillant use their own version of ebus that only works with vaillant controls, it wont work with other ebus controls, you can use the tado but only as an off/on control .

Hi,

If you are willing to do the legwork, there is an OpenTherm module available for Vaillant boilers - but only to foreign markets (it is not officially supported in the UK). See:

Though using this could possibly cause problems if there were a warranty claim?

Maybe something to consider? :)

Yes, installation of the O/T module apparently voids the manufacturer warranty even though the part is available from the manufacturer. If your Vaillant is out of manufacturer warranty then this won't be a problem for you.
