Hi There

I moved into a property in January and boiler has worked fine until a few days ago. The day before it stopped working properly I did have the heating on for about 12 hours at about mid heat (but don’t see why that should stop it working) I THINK the boiler is a TurboMAX or TurboMAX plus but it has no model number on it. Doesn’t have a digital dial but it does have a model on the timer – Time switch 110. My boiler looks exactly the same as the pictures on this thread: http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=230858

The hot water is working as usual but my radiators are not heating at all. Have re-set the boiler / left it off for 24 hours / tried to use on timer as I normally would then switched on to constant instead and still no change. All the radiators were bled last night and the pressure valve on the boiler is at about 1.5.

Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this? (I’m completely useless with things like this!!)

Thanks

Hi. Make sure the heating flow temperature knob is turned fully clockwise. Turn the clock to the sun symbol and your room thermostat (if you have one) to maximum temperature, then press the 'i' button on the boiler and report back the code it shows. It will say S. and a number.

Hi, I have turned the heating temperature dial on the boiler right to the hottest, the knob is on the sun/constant symbol and the room thermostat is as high as it will go. I don't see an "i" button anywhere on my boiler and there isn't any kind of digital dial that would show a code (am I missing something?) I'm not sure how old this boiler is as I am renting the property... Thanks

You did say your boiler looked exactly like the one in your link

That's a Turbomax plus with a display, below which you will see four buttons? Top right button is the 'I' button.

Unless its not 'exactly' like your link, and it has a row of vertical LEDs and an orange reset button. In which case it's a Turbomax Pro. If it is that, then you need to be looking for a yellow led alight next to a radiator symbol and a hum (pump) from the boiler.

, the light next to the small radiator symbol on the boiler is orange (rather than green or off, I'm not sure what colour it was when the radiators were heating up)
But the light next to the symbol of the tap (which I presume is hot water) is off (although hot water is on and working)
And the light next to the "O/I" symbol is green
This might have some significance.

Sorry I didn't look at the pictures close enough - I have the vertical LED's not the digital dial!and a yellow/orange light by the radiator symbol.

If you press the orange reset button, describe what the boiler does

The whirring noise stops, all.LED lights went off and have now come back on - all are orange at the moment (I am running hot water) apart from the "O/I" LED is green and I can hear the whirring noise starting up again

Why did you run the hot water The idea is to see what happened with THE HEATING after you pressed the button

Sorry mate, someone else will pop by, early start in the morning, bed beckons

I know, I was running the hot water because I needed to use it, nothing to do with testing the heating. Thought I might aswell mention that as the lights were all on.

If anyone else reads this if you can help please let me know!

I have done! I came on here to ask for help with this as I have said I am clueless with things like this.

When restarted the radiator LED light is orange, all others off (when hot water NOT in use)apart from the "O/I" symbol which has a greed LED light
