As a final note: BEWARE BG!. checked my bank this morning, they have taken £192 from me after saying it would not be charged. After a heated phone call they said it would take 10-14 days to refund it.
Even so I thought both of your were excellent .Some of the technical stuff was very good,certainly helped me anyway.
And,you were in front of a PC. It took a Vallaint engineer in front of the boiler to sort it.

Without being in front of a boiler and able to carry out tests on it, then only simple faults can be diagnosed.
I can do very well over the telephone with someone whom I have trained because they will be able to carry out tests and report the result to me.
However, one trainee ( with an MSc ! ) on his first solo visit got into difficulties. I asked him to link the two connections to the LP switch as it was showing a LP fault code but it still would not work. I was lurking nearby in case he needed help and attended and found he has removed the LP switch plug and joined the two tags on the switch itself. Not surprisingly the boiler did not fire up !
