My plumber has recently fitted a Vaillant + mega flow cylinder to replace the old combination boiler. Just getting used to it but there is one thing that I cannot find in the handbook. The timer is set for the hot water but when it is not during the required periods I can hear the boiler cycling for a few minutes at random times. Isw this the boiler topping up the heat or just clearing out the gasses??

It is an eco tech plus and I believe it is a VUI as as it has a mega flow cylinder for the hot water
In your case it should be a 6xx the number is found on the data badge under the boiler.
If it is the brand new unit (no control knobs all settings done via buttons) it soinds like it has been wored wrong. If 240v controls used then 24v link needs removed if not this will hold the boiler on
