Had an Vaillant engineer over a couple of days ago to replace a leaking pump.

When the heating is off the pressure is around 1 bar, when it’s on it climbs to 2.8 bar, which is much higher than I’ve ever seen.

He tested the expansion vessel when he was here and checked it again today and it’s fine.

What could be causing the high pressure?

    thanks!

Either a blocked communication hose/pipe or it hasnt been re-pressurised properly

    Thanks Ian!

do you have anymore information on the communication hose/pipe?

I googled it to see what the part is and literally the only information that came up is replies from you to other people haha

simply how the expansion vessel connects to the water section of the boiler, some use a hose some use a rigid pipe, they get easily blocked and give the same symptoms as a flat expansion vessel
