What is the best pressure when filling the system (cold) running 7 rads.

I seem to be getting air in the rads even after the system is fully bled - does the pump self modulate on this boiler or is it a manual adjustment by the fitting engineer? when he installed it he did not modulate anything or go into any installers menu on the screen.

Many Thanks

1.2 Bar when cold for system pressure.

Pump is 2 speed, self selecting, not fully modulating.

Installer should have at least range rated the ch side using d0 and hopefully increased the pump over run (d1) to 8-10 mins.

He should also have checked/set up the combustion co2 % with a FGA whilst DHW running and boiler manually set to max output.

If he has done none of these then to me it would imply he is not a genuine Vaillant approved installer.

I have got read outs from the emission reading machine. but i'm unsure what setting he applied to the boiler when taking these readings

An FGA is a Flue Gas Analyser.

Since they cost up to £1000 and need £100 of calibration each year, few boiler installers bother with them!

Unfortunately the boilers usually work straight out of the box regardless and the householder does not know the shortcomings of their installer.

If you are in an average 7 rad home, I would say that the most you will need d0 to be set on is 15KW.

Press 'i' and '+' together then when it reads d0 press 'i' again.

Press the minus button until 15 appears then press and hold 'i' until the 15 flashes.

When done press 'i' again to get back to d0, then press '+', when d1 appears press'i' then press '+' to read 8. Then press and hold 'i' until 8 flashes.

Press 'i' then press 'i' and '+' together to revert to standard display.

Thats the best I can offer from here
