Can anyone help me- I haven't any grey taps on my valves and need to top up the CH sealed system from the mains input so that I can bleed it. I am currently on .9 bar so cannot risk bleeding any more rads
Also want to clean the magnashield and add furnox so will doubtless lose a little more water.
I am assured the grey valve covers are not available as spares and they were not fitted on the original installation. As a result the flat screwdriver heads on the valves are becoming very worn and I suspect will not stand much more opening- I do not want to risk having a valve jammed open....

Maybe someone has a spare or is scrapping their boiler? Any help valued

You can do it with a spanner. There should be 2 flat sides on the filling valve spindles (this is what the grey levers grip onto)

None of the vaillant valves should be turned using a screwdriver. The slot is just to show you weather the valve is open or closed. An allen key should be used for the main valves.

really appreciate this information and so quick!

Have filled and bled system an all is warm again! :D
